They come out of the same minutes as phone calls, and they are cheaper: a WhatsApp minute counts as 0.8 of a plan minute because there is no phone line to pay for. A call you start on WhatsApp adds WhatsApp's per-country fee (about $0.024 a minute to Germany, added the way an expensive destination is). A WhatsApp message you send counts as about 0.13 of a minute, and receiving messages is free. Past your plan's minutes, minutes cost your plan's per-minute rate and a message 1¢, from your credit balance. WhatsApp is on every plan.
No. Phone numbers, calling, speech recognition, voices and the conversation AI are all included in the price. There is nothing to set up or bring.
