Payment links for bookings and orders
How to send your own payment link with booking and order confirmations, set a different link per service, and mark bookings and orders as paid.

If you take deposits or prepayments, you can have Ringhum pass your payment link to customers. You create the link with the payment service you already use, paste it into Ringhum, and it goes out with booking confirmations, and with order confirmations if you take orders. The money goes straight to your own account. Ringhum never handles the payment or sees card details.
Payment links work on every plan.
How it works
- You create a payment link with your own payment provider, for example a deposit link.
- You paste it under Company → Payments and choose when it is sent.
- Customers get the link in their confirmation email and text, and pay you directly.
- Ringhum cannot see whether a customer paid. When the money arrives, you mark the booking or order as paid.
There is no card processing or payment account inside Ringhum, and no refunds or payouts to manage here. All of that stays with your payment provider.
Get a payment link
Any link that starts with https:// works. The Where do I get a payment link? section on the Payments tab gives short directions:
- Stripe: Payment Links → New, set the amount (for example your deposit), then Copy link.
- PayPal: create your PayPal.me link, for example paypal.me/yourbusiness.
- Square, SumUp or Revolut Business: create a payment link or checkout link and copy it.
A fixed-amount link suits a deposit that is the same for every booking. For different amounts per service, see below.
Set up your payment link
- Open Company → Payments.
- Paste your link into Payment link.
- Optionally, fill in What it is for, for example "a $20 deposit". Customers see this text. Leave it empty if the link says it all. It can be up to 80 characters.
- Turn on Send it with every booking confirmation to include the link in booking confirmations.
- If you take orders, turn on Send it with order confirmations as well.
- Click Save.
The box Added to the confirmation text shows the sentence customers will get, for example "To secure your booking, please pay a $20 deposit here:" followed by your link.
Note: Send it with order confirmations only appears for businesses that take orders, that is, when Orders and Menu & products are part of your sidebar.
A different link per service
If each service needs its own amount, give it its own link:
- Open Company → Services.
- Paste a link into the Payment link column of the service.
- Click Save services.
A service with its own link always sends that link with its booking confirmations, even if Send it with every booking confirmation is off. Services without their own link use the general link, but only when that switch is on. The What it is for text is used with both.
When the link is sent
| Message | Link included |
|---|---|
| Booking confirmation (email and text) | Yes, if the service has its own link or the general link is on for bookings |
| Rescheduled, reminder and cancellation messages | No |
| Order received (email and text) | Yes, if the general link is on for orders |
| Any message after the booking or order is marked paid | No |
In a booking email, the link appears as a Pay now button with the words "To secure your booking, please pay online." In an order email, it is a Pay online button. In a text, it is added at the end. A booking only gets the link in its first confirmation. Booking confirmations follow the usual rules for email and text. See Confirmations, reminders and changes.
Your assistant also knows about your payment links. If a caller asks how to pay, it tells them you take payment online with your own link and can offer to send it. It never takes card numbers itself.
Mark bookings and orders as paid
Ringhum does not receive a signal from your payment provider, so you record payments yourself.
Appointments. Open the appointment under Appointments. The Payment line shows one of:
- Not paid: no link was sent, and it is not marked paid.
- Payment link sent: the confirmation included your link.
- Paid: you marked it paid.
Click Mark as paid when the money arrives. Click Mark as not paid to undo it.
Orders. Open the order under Orders and click Mark as paid or Mark as not paid in the same way.
You can also set the paid state through the API. See API keys and scopes.
Common questions
The link is not in the confirmation. Check that the service has its own link, or that Send it with every booking confirmation is on and saved. Also check that the booking is not already marked paid. Only new bookings get the link, not moved ones.
I see "The Payment link field is required." One of the send switches is on but the link is empty. Paste a link or turn the switches off.
My link is refused.
The link must be a full address that starts with https://.
Can Ringhum take the payment on the call? No. The assistant can only point customers to your link, and it is told never to take card numbers on calls, in chats or in messages.
