Choosing what gets sent

Pick which calls, inbox items, appointments and orders each connected app receives, and limit call updates to the calls that need someone to act.

Each connected app has its own list of events. You decide, app by app, what Ringhum sends: every call, only the calls that need attention, messages and callbacks, bookings, or orders. This keeps busy channels quiet and sends each tool only what it is for. For example, you can send urgent callbacks to Slack, every call to your CRM, and bookings to a spreadsheet.

The events

You choose events under Send in the connect dialog. Only the events an app can handle are listed.

Event What is sent
Every call (summary, outcome, transcript) One update when a call has ended and been summarised: caller, number, assistant, duration, outcome, sentiment, summary and the details the assistant collected. Some apps also get the transcript or a link to the recording.
Messages, callbacks, voicemails and leads A new item in the Inbox, including text, WhatsApp and website chat conversations.
Appointments booked or rescheduled A new booking, or a booking moved to a new time.
Appointments cancelled A cancelled booking.
New orders An order taken on a call, by hand or through the API.
Orders cancelled A cancelled order.

When you first connect an app, every event it supports is ticked. Untick the ones you do not want.

Note: Order status changes, such as an order marked ready, are sent only to shops, POS systems and automation apps (Zapier, Make, n8n), and only when New orders is ticked. Chat apps like Slack hear only about new and cancelled orders.

Calendar apps have no event list. Google Calendar receives your bookings through its own setting; see Calendars and busy times.

Change the events for a connected app

  1. Open Integrations and click Connected to list your apps.
  2. Click Settings on the app's card.
  3. Under Send, tick or untick events.
  4. Click Save settings.

The card then lists the events it receives, for example "Every call · Messages, callbacks, voicemails and leads". If you untick everything, the card shows No events selected and the app receives nothing.

Only calls that need attention

Messaging apps (Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Telegram, Google Chat), help desks (Zendesk, Freshdesk, Help Scout), task tools and automation apps have an extra switch: Only calls that need attention.

When it is on, the Every call event is sent only for calls where:

  • the assistant took a message,
  • the caller asked for a callback,
  • the caller left a voicemail,
  • the caller hung up, or
  • the call failed.

When it is off, every call is sent. The switch only affects call updates. Inbox items, bookings and orders are still sent if they are ticked. The card shows "only calls needing attention" when the switch is on.

Tip: For a shared team channel, turn the switch on and tick Messages, callbacks, voicemails and leads. The channel then shows only the things someone has to deal with.

What is never sent

  • Call updates, inbox items and orders from test calls.
  • Anything while the connection is paused. Events that happen during a pause are not sent later.
  • Events for an app whose category is switched off for your workspace. See Connecting an app.

Common questions

Can I send different events to two Slack channels? Each app can be connected once per workspace. To post to a second channel, use Zapier, Make or n8n, or add a webhook endpoint under Developers. See Webhooks.

Why does my CRM only get calls? CRM connections add the caller as a contact, person or lead and log each call on their record. Bookings and inbox items are not sent to them.

An event is ticked but nothing arrives. Open the app's recent deliveries to see whether it was sent, skipped or failed. See Troubleshooting deliveries.
